Government-Run Health Care: Survivability Rate Is Less

from the desk of Ted Duboise

I have refrained from commenting on the proposed Health Care Reform Act. I am still not commenting, but I felt that you should hear from someone who has plenty to say with the facts and figures to support his viewpoint. I will tell you that I totally agree with him!

Here is Rep. Mike Rogers from Michigan. A video was made of his opening statement on Health Care Reform legislation that is under debate in Congress. Here is a few highlights of his statement and then the video.

  • 85% of Americans have health care – only 15% do not
  • Congress wants to punish the 85% who have earned health care benefits as a part of their employment and make them pay for the 15% who have no health care.  Say what?  My comments: We will punish the part that’s working to cover the part that’s not?  Does that sound like socialism?
  • This bill will give unprecedented power to the Federal government.  They can disenroll individuals and/or whole companies and take you off your own individual plan!
  • Survivability rate of several cancers (including breast cancer, skin cancer, prostate cancer) is far less in Canada and the United Kingdom than in the U.S. currently.  Those two countries have government-run health care.  This means the survivability rate for these cancers will be far less under this bill if it is passed!

Watch the video and understand the truth.  By the way, I will say this:  If you want to change health care in America, eat right!  Health is a choice – not a right!  You choose what you eat and there is plenty of government-produced scientific and medical evidence to prove that – yes – what you eat does affect your health.
